Thursday and Friday I travelled to the Yorke Peninsula with a work colleague to see a number of Royal Society for the Blind clients. We had a warm welcome from the clients and found ourselves in some fantastic accommodation (Beach front villa with balcony and spa bath). For these reasons we felt more like we were on holiday rather than working.

By the end of the week the temperature was raising in Adelaide, so to find some relief Mark and I headed south, to the beach in the late afternoon. It was a lovely way to spend a hot afternoon. Once again it was a picture from my dreams. Clear blue sea and white sand (Rapid Bay). It was so hot that muslin women on the beach could take it no longer and went swimming fully clothed. It was a lovely sight to see, ladies who did not care for the opinions of others on the beach and appeared very help. On the way home we dropped into a Restaurant/Bar at Second Valley for dinner. Another meal using amazing ingratiates with a fantastic results, another Restaurant/Bar to add to our tourist file.

Sunday was even hotter that Saturday at 42 C. Today was spent going from house to house looking for air conditioning. Around lunch time we headed to Rhys birthday party. Though a hot day we managed well with a house full of very young children. We had a lovely afternoon and good once again to mean Georgia and Jason’s family and to get to know them further.
Monday – Frist day of extreme heat at work today was another hot day. Maximum heat got to 43C in Adelaide (the hottest day yet). I think with all taken into account we have managed well. Mark even managed to cycle to work (I now know that I have married a crazy man). I on the other hand found it too hot and took the bus to work and just about managed to get though the day at work with no Air Con (Someone had left the windows open over the weekend, so the building was to hot for the air con to manage, grrrrrrrrr). The weather woman this evening tells us that tomorrow will be a little cooler (33c), but it looks like we are in for our first hot week. Temperatures are set to range between 30 and 43c this week, dropping to 26C on Saturday and then back up to the 30s on Sunday.
There are photos to follow, but it has been too hot this week to spend any length of time in the office, as there is no air con in there and we are jet to get a fan. Hopefully Mark will be able to do them this weekend.
well done you to write this. I would have melted...
