This week has been quite a quiet week really. Mark ended up going to Streaky Bay on the Eyre Peninsula for work on Thursday (overnight). I on the other hand was preparing for my own trip to the Yorke Peninsula at the end of next week.
This week Adelaide has been cycling mad with the tour down under, so to get in with the feeling we headed to Port Victor for a bike ride on Saturday. We even managed to see some of the tour down under on their route. What a sight. We were driving on the dual carriageway and I have never seen so many car’s park on the hard shoulder (just to get a glimmer of the tour down under), there must have been a good 200 or 300 hundred cars.
The day continued to be interesting. On our 45km bike ride we found a fantastic fish and chip shop on the beach front of Port Elliot Bay, where we watched the beach life guards complete a training session with a helicopter, jet-ski and speed boat. During the bike ride Mark collected his first case of pommy sunburn, but with a number of applications of Aloe Vera is now less RED. I on the other hand ended up literally seeing stars after falling off my bike, when my bike tyre got stuck in a tram line. Though I have come away from it with bruised pride, right knee and badly grazed left elbow I am fine, just a little sore.
Today we have been to a friend’s second child’s christening. It was a lovely day, the church service was very friendly and Juliet (baby being christened) loved it so much she end up with her hands in the water (no tears). A good afternoon was to be had, catch up with friends when drinking ice cold beer in the shade of a beautiful garden when the temperature is 32C.
Now it’s just time to prepare for the week ahead, but that’s not too bad as this week we have a day off, on Wednesday for Australia Day. Here’s to a 4 day week.
