Sabbatical in Devon

After a fantastic week in North Wales we had a road trip down to Devon for Mark to start his sabbatical. On arrival to our new home for 3 months we were welcomed by the landlady and her dog (Wendy & Fren). The house was beautiful on arrival it was filled with freshly cut flowers from the beautiful garden and homemade cake, biscuits and a basket full of Peppa Big.  Felicity was made up by her big girl bedroom and a large garden with a Wendy house and trampoline. She also loved the hens that lived across the stream from her garden. She had ensured we had been introduced to all the friendly neighbour we found in the beautiful Devon village South Zeal we called home from August to November.

The weekend we arrived we concentrated on settling in to this beautiful village in the heart of Devon. It was fantastic within 24 hours we had met all the neighbours and everyone in the local pub new about us and already new who Felicity was. The villagers were so welcoming. During our stay Felicity and I attended the local playgroup and prep school and all three of us got involved with the community events. Mark had a fantastic team of people to work with at the Rothamsted Research centre. Their work life balance approach was brilliant, lunch time was sent playing volley ball or table tennis and there were regular Friday drinks and social events, such as the Halloween Party that Mark and Felicity attended.
The local was stunning.

Whilst Daddy was at work Felicity would often go on long walks to explore the community and spent some great afternoons with Emma and Dibble.
