On our trip home from Melbourne we stopped off at the southern Grampians to see the views and they were breath taking.

Once again we managed to fit in yet another waterfall. Though I have to say by this point I opted out of the walk down to the bottom. Though Sue, Bill and Mark enjoyed the view below.

After about 13 hours on the road and the drving shared between Mark and I we arrived safely home in Adeladie.

Last day in Tassie

Well the last day has arrived and so has the rain. Though we can't complain as we have had two days of rain in two weeks. The final day was a day trip from Smithton to Devonport.

On route there was enough time to see yet another waterfall and stop off in Sheffield to see the famous muarls.

The day was rounded up with a great sunset over Stanley, another fantastic meal and finding a few Little Penguins on a beach walk was a great way of wrapping up a brilliant hoilday.

Day 2 of our Honey moon

On arrival at Cradle Mountain Mark and I agreed it was day two of our honey moon. So have a relaxed evening in our log cabin. Our honey moon stated with a big breakfast with some amazing muesli. With our picnic of cheese, crackers and red wine in hand. We handed out on our 26km walk along the Cradle Mountain board walk and around Dove lake.

Cradle Mountain and Dove Lake

On arrival to Dove Lake, after 2 hours of walking we found a great view point on a rock and eat our pack lunch. After a well-earned break on we went to complete the walk. After walking about half an hour and loosing Mark to the camera I came very close to a tiger snake which was looking for a sunny patch on the board walk. Too close for comfort though. Right near my ankle. After make eye contact with the snake and taking 3 steps back the snake made the right discussion and turn back under the board walk.

After a further 4 hours of walking we arrived back at the log cabin unable to walk or move very fast, but nothing a spa bath and a glass of wine couldn't solve. In the evening we headed to the Cradle Mountain Tasmania Devils centre, before having an amazing meal in the Cradle Mountain Lodge Restaurant.

After an early bearkfast the day begun like many. With a walk to a waterfall.

Hogarth's Falls
Hogarth's Falls.

This was followed with a trip to some sand Dunes in Henty. Where we found a crowd of chinese huddled around something in the carpark. But as it was heavly raining we sheltered in the car until it stopped and then went to investigate. It was a large bumble bee.

After lunch it was time for a 3 hour walk to the largest waterfall in Tasmania (Montezuma Falls). Which involved walking along an old train track, passing bridges that were over 100 years old and walking across a replacement bridge to see the fall impact of the waterfall. The males in the party managed a trip down one of the many mining shaft.

We arrive at Cradle mountain to find that we have cabins with spa bath and a log burner in the bedroom. It was a dream. So after a tasty meal in the bar. It was time to relax in the spa bath and enjoy a complementary glass of port in front of our bedroom log burner.
