Following our short week our friend Georgia invited us on a trip to the Aussie bush to help her with her fieldwork project for her PHD. It was an amazing trip. We held north from Adelaide up the Murray River to Renmark (passing a place called Morgan). We stayed about 25km outside Renmark near a beautiful river, in what I can only describe as the Aussie equivalent of the Shack I use to stay at in Keswick with my university friends. It was an out of this world place. It was made up of a number of building which housed a number of bunk rooms, TV room, Kitchen, dining room, bathroom and activity building. It also had areas of bonfires and BBQs.
See below a few pictures of the river at dusk on our arrival to our accomandation.

See below just a few pictures of our accomandation and us enjoying a good game and wine, after enjoying a lovely meal in Renmark its self. Marks dinner consisisted of kangaroo, emu and crockerdail.

Sunday we headed out from our accommodation to the Aussie bush to help Georgia with her fieldwork, where we saw our first billabong, a number of big spiders in die trees, emus and pelicans.

On our return trip Mark slept in the car and I learnt to drive the car long distance using the cruise control and took in the amazing countryside that drove through. I think I can say I am now ready for our driving holiday around Tasmania in November.
Our fantastic weekend was rounded up with some great news that our friends Jon and Liz had now welcomed their new baby girl into the world. Congratulations Jon and Liz. We can’t wait to meet your new arrival.
