Visitor research

Sunday 7th November

Following a late night with the house party, this Sunday was spent researching the local beaches and a gentle walk around the coast.

The following week was nothing special really, as life is becoming normal. Monday night I had a girl guide’s meeting and left Mark with a task list and listening to his music loudly. Tuesday night was swimming night with Georgia. Wednesday was the quiet night in. Though Mark did have yet another work trip, this time he went on a 24 hour trip to Wollongbar (which is on the Gold Coast). He went for a meeting and ended up visiting a coffee plantation.

Thursday night I had a game of netball, which went well I think. We have yet to win a game but the margin is getting smaller 17-27 this week. Friday night is collapse on the sofa night, and after difficult research we have found a fantastic pizza place, hum.

Saturday 13th November

This Saturday with the other Guiders I took the girl guides horse riding in the Adelaide hills. Where without fail it rained and rained. I loved it I finally got a normal November day, cold and wet. The girls had a great time; I meanwhile was the nominated photographer.

Sunday 14th November

This Sunday, a rare occasion occurred. We managed to get up and be out of the house before noon. Making the most of this rare occasion we went on a 2 hour dive down to Wellington and around Lake Alexandrine to Goolwa and the mouth of the Murray. On our trip we crossed the Rive Murray using the first and oldest ferry crossing. It has been open to the public for 170 years and we found yet some more, great wineries

Late October early November news update

Sunday 24th October – Jan’s house warming BBQ

Today Mark and I experienced our first Aussie style BBQ. I have to say with a cold beer and sun shine it’s one of the best ways to spend a Sunday afternoon. It was also a good way to get to introduce Mark to my work mates.

Monday 25th October – trip up to York Peninsula for presentation

After being given less than an week’s notice that I was to do a 60 minute presentation on the role of the Occupational Therapists role within R.S.B, Jan and I head up to the York Peninsula, in the very early hours of the morning. I think I handled it well and even managed to win over a difficult client by the end of the session. The group I presented to even took us out for lunch and I experienced by first even Garfish, it’s sweeter than the cod I am use to, but I really enjoyed it.

Wednesday 27th October – Jesus Christ super star

We came around this on Saturday when going to the central market. It was a lovely evening out but I was not too impressed with their sound. It needed to be a lot louder. I am sure I know a company that would have done a better job. 

Thursday 28th October – Netball twisted ankle

Week 3 of netball now and I have to say that even though we lost again we are improving every game. I just need to remind the centre that it’s a game, and it’s not the end of the world if we lose. I even managed to twist my ankle this week, so I have been limping, the last couple of days. However it was nothing that could not be sorted with a lot of ice and rest. 

Saturday 30th October – Jeff’s Halloween Party

We have sent the day looking for costumes and making deserts. The party was a great success. How hostess with Canadian and really did know how to hold a Halloween party. There were some great costumes there to. Mark went as a mad scientist (very arugula) and I went as a devil. Please see the photos below. I even had pumpkin pie for the first time and I have to say it was very good.

The last week has been somewhat uneventful in comparison. Though we did spent most the week getting ready for our housewarming party this Saturday (6th November). I hope you like the pictures. It was a bonfire night theme with a difference as we are not allowed bonfires in Aussie at the moment and it is illegal to have fireworks. But we still had the sparklers, meat and potato pie and parking cake. We even had some visitors from the UK join us .
